How to set up IPTV on Android TV & Android Box

Android TV boxes and Android TV dongles are the best hardware for IPTV, because TiviMate runs on them and TiviMate has the strongest channel guide of any player. Installation is straightforward: the players are in the Play Store.

Before you start

  • Your NexOtt username, password and server URL (emailed within 5–15 minutes of payment).
  • Apps that work here: TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro, OTT Navigator.
  • A connection of at least 15 Mbps — 25 Mbps for 4K.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Google Play Store on the device and install TiviMate IPTV Player (or IPTV Smarters Pro if you prefer a simpler layout).
  2. Launch TiviMate and choose "Add playlist" → "Xtream Codes".
  3. Enter the server URL, username and password from your NexOtt credentials email.
  4. Give the playlist a name and let it download the channel list and EPG. On a first run this takes one to three minutes.
  5. Choose which channel groups to show and in what order — this is the step most people skip, and it is what makes a 18,500-channel list usable.
  6. Set the default player as the auto-start app if this box is only used for TV: Settings → Apps → Auto-start.

If something goes wrong

Guide data is missing for some channels

In TiviMate, open the channel, press and hold, and choose "EPG source". Some regional channels map to a different EPG ID.

Audio out of sync

Switch the decoder from hardware to software in TiviMate Settings → Playback. Cheap boxes often have poor hardware decoders.

Random restarts on a cheap box

Underpowered boxes run out of RAM on a large channel list. Limit the visible groups, or move to a box with 2 GB+ RAM.

Still stuck?

Message NexOtt support on WhatsApp or email contact@nex-ott.com. Someone answers 24/7, and we can read your box's settings over chat.
