How to set up IPTV on Amazon Fire TV Stick

The Fire TV Stick does not carry IPTV players in its main store, so the app is side-loaded with Downloader. Amazon allows this — it is the same route Amazon documents for developer testing — but the two settings below have to be switched on first or the install silently fails.

Before you start

  • Your NexOtt username, password and server URL (emailed within 5–15 minutes of payment).
  • Apps that work here: IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate.
  • A connection of at least 15 Mbps — 25 Mbps for 4K.

Step-by-step

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, open the search (magnifying glass) and type "Downloader". Install the orange Downloader app.
  2. Go back to the home screen and open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options.
  3. Turn on "Install unknown apps", find Downloader in the list, and switch it to On. (On newer Fire OS builds this setting lives under Settings → My Fire TV → About after clicking the name seven times.)
  4. Open Downloader, select the URL field, and enter the player download address we send with your credentials. Press Go.
  5. When the download finishes, choose Install, then Done. Delete the installer file when Downloader offers — it frees space and does nothing else.
  6. Open the player and choose "Login with Xtream Codes API".
  7. Enter the username, password and server URL from your NexOtt email exactly as written, including capitals. Name the playlist anything you like.
  8. The channel list loads within a minute. Pin the app to the front of your Fire TV row so it is one click away.

If something goes wrong

App installed but shows no channels

The server URL almost always has a typo, or a trailing slash was added. Re-enter it character by character from the email.

Everything buffers on a Firestick 4K

Fire sticks throttle when hot and when storage is nearly full. Clear the player cache under Settings → Applications, and prefer ethernet via the Amazon ethernet adapter over 5GHz Wi-Fi.

"App not installed" error

Storage is full. Uninstall an unused app — Fire sticks ship with very little free space.
