How to set up IPTV on Windows PC & Mac

On a PC or Mac you have two routes: VLC, which everyone already has and which plays a playlist with zero setup, or a desktop IPTV player with a proper channel guide. Use VLC to test that your credentials work, then move to a real player for daily use.

Before you start

  • Your NexOtt username, password and server URL (emailed within 5–15 minutes of payment).
  • Apps that work here: VLC Media Player, IPTV Smarters for PC, MyIPTV Player (Windows).
  • A connection of at least 15 Mbps — 25 Mbps for 4K.

Step-by-step

  1. Quick test with VLC: open VLC → Media → Open Network Stream, paste the M3U playlist URL from your email, and press Play. If channels appear, your subscription is live.
  2. For daily use, install IPTV Smarters for desktop (Windows and macOS builds are on the developer site) or MyIPTV Player from the Microsoft Store.
  3. Open the player and choose Xtream Codes login.
  4. Enter server URL, username and password from your credentials email.
  5. Let the channel list and guide download, then favourite the channels you watch.
  6. On macOS, allow the app through Gatekeeper the first time: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

If something goes wrong

VLC plays but the channel list is one long unsorted stream

That is normal — VLC has no group support. It is a test tool, not a daily player.

Choppy 4K playback on an older laptop

Enable hardware acceleration in the player settings, or drop to the FHD version of the channel.

Windows blocks the installer

SmartScreen flags unsigned installers. Choose "More info" → "Run anyway" if you downloaded from the developer's own site.
