How to set up IPTV on MAG Box

MAG boxes do not use an app at all. The box talks to a portal URL, and once that URL is saved the lineup appears on boot. This makes MAG the simplest device to live with and the fussiest to configure, because your box's MAC address has to be registered on our side first.

Before you start

  • Your NexOtt username, password and server URL (emailed within 5–15 minutes of payment).
  • Apps that work here: Built-in portal (no app needed).
  • A connection of at least 15 Mbps — 25 Mbps for 4K.

Step-by-step

  1. Find your MAC address: Settings → System Settings → About, or read it from the sticker underneath the box. It looks like 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX.
  2. Send that MAC address to NexOtt support on WhatsApp or by email. We register it against your subscription — the box will not work until this is done.
  3. On the box: Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals.
  4. Set Portal 1 Name to NexOtt and Portal 1 URL to the portal address in your credentials email.
  5. Save, then choose Restart Portal (or power-cycle the box).
  6. The NexOtt lineup loads on boot. Nothing else needs configuring.

If something goes wrong

"Portal not found" or a blank loading screen

Nine times out of ten the MAC address has not been registered yet, or was sent with a typo. Message support with the exact string from the About screen.

Reset to factory defaults (Settings → Software update → hold OK during boot), then re-enter the portal URL.

Picture freezes every few minutes

MAG boxes are sensitive to Wi-Fi. Use the ethernet port — on these boxes it makes a bigger difference than on any other device.
